The genus Fundulus is found in the fish family Fundulidae - the killifish family.
Killifish are small fishes, normally only a few inches in length. They are generally surface-water feeders and have an upturned mouth. They consume insects at the water's surface, and other invertebrates within the water column.
The particular fish that this design was made from was a Blackstripe Topminnow, Fundulus notatus. One of only three native killifish species in our home state of Wisconsin, the entire native range of this species in the wild is primarily the central- to east-central United States. There, they prefer the slackwater areas of rivers and streams. This is a Great-Lakes region native species.
The design for this shirt was created from making a silhouette of a Blackstripe Topminnow from a photo we took of the species.

Made from specially spun fibers that make a very strong and smooth fabric that is perfect for printing. The "Natural" color is made with unprocessed cotton, which results in small black flecks throughout the fabric

Dual Printing Techniques
Sleeve prints (for Print Clever and Underground Threads) and inner neck labels are printed using Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing, ensuring crisp, detailed designs. Meanwhile, the remaining print areas are produced with Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing.
Non-chlorine: bleach as needed; Do not iron; Do not dryclean; Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F); Tumble dry: low heat.
